LONDON – The traders at Borough Market – just behind London Bridge – were most kind and welcoming to us. Between Anthony, a young Londoner of Napolitan origins selling charcuteries, Ludov, a French boy from Lyon with his non biological cheese (“It’s French cheese, guys!” he says) and Paul Wheeler, a local grocerist who also loves classical music, Borough Market makes a delicious mix of sounds, colours, tastes and smells.
Despite the fact that we’ve both been to London several times, we had never visited Borough Market before; we’ve been told that many chefs of important restaurants shop there – the place is lovely.
Paul thinks so too. He’s been making the atmosphere even more pleasant for fifteen years, by playing classical music. “It’s good for the veggies,” he says, and laughs.
